FLOWER FRIDAY

As usual, Mr. HCB was out in the garden very early - from about 7.00 a.m. as the area near the greenhouse is in the shade then.  Then I surfaced just after 8 and decided to go out and do some dead-heading before the sun got on to our new border so Mr. HCB thought it might be a good idea to place the new plants on there and then get them planted.

We have had a lovely morning together in the garden, and have just been sitting in our “blue corner”, because it was lovely and shady, having a well-earned cup of coffee.

Of course, I took quite a few photographs and it was hard to decide which one to choose for the Flower Friday challenge.  Would it be the Agapanthus that wasn’t quite out, so could probably wait another few days for its 15 minutes of fame on Blip, or the lavender that Mr. HCB has grown from seed, or the Verbena bonariensis that was swaying beautifully in the breeze.

After mulling it over and looking at the various shots I took, the Verbena won the day.  I have come in because I wanted to get my Blip done early since I have to finish off my Order of Service for Sunday later, but Mr. HCB is still out there, planting.  However, the sun is getting stronger so he won’t be able to stay out for much longer, and it is nearly lunchtime.

Hope everyone has a great weekend - tomorrow we are off to Yeldall Manor, a residential Christian drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre for men, for their Open Day - a cause very close to the heart of our special Blip friend, HeidiAndDolly, so we are looking forward to that and also to seeing her.
