Independence

Oh, how we love to be independent. As children that can sometimes be the only important hurdle to achieve. To be able to do as we want. To be free from the constraints of our parents. And then as we gradually overcome that barrier, we find ourselves faced with a much larger one. How to remain free and independent as adults. Free from worry, free from financial insecurity, free from the gremlins that haunt us, free from the stress that’s killing us. The only real freedom we’ll ever know, will be that of Jesus. Only God’s freedom plan will show us the path to what we’ve always longed for. On this Independence Day my prayer is that we can set someone on that journey. That we can lead a slave from the trappings of this world, into the loving freedom of the next.
