More Southern Ocean than South Seas

Now that Christmas festivities and my Mum's birthday are over, and all visitors gone, this afternoon I went for a brisk walk along the front at Southsea. There were lots of people and dogs out for a stroll but the wind and sea were pretty fierce and the sun wasn't all that was promised. Still, out-of-season seaside is fun and the fresh air and peace much needed. Took some snaps of the waves crashing in under the pier, but in the end I liked best this shut up kiosk with the light bursting through its plastic windows.

Now I'm going to settle down with a strong coffee, an old film which I saw somewhere in the schedules (Force Ten From Navarone anyone?) and my tapestry and try to get properly warm. I much look forward to seeing your journals later.. x
