D left for the island, a bit later than usual which was nice. Did quite a lot of humdrum chores including changing the banjo strings, which I'd been putting off for ages.

I've just started reading June's book from Foyles - apart from the James Baldwin it's the only one I've had by an author I'd heard of. Have enjoyed other Pat Barker books and this seems very promising.
