FIRST OPIUM POPPY

First flower of the year but I seem to have a very healthy crop bursting forth wherever they fancied growing. Though not necessarily where I intended them to be. Someone mentioned that if this was Wisley Gardens the poppies would be in a vast swathe, complimented by vibrant purple and deep magenta plantings alongside. He only actually said the first half of that sentence but if he’s going to be critical he may as well have gone the whole hog.

How he even dared to criticise me after the morning I had I can barely believe. Suffice to say that Cora, my bank’s robot “help assistant” is no longer on my Christmas card list, and their fraud department have probably blocked my telephone number, even though not one swear word passed my lips. I did shout once though, sorry about that.

The outcome is that because They wanted to add my mobile number to my bank details, I cannot now use my account for three days. I had not initially given them my phone number as I did not want sales calls. I even had to turn my phone on find out what its number is. What a debacle.

And I can’t even afford a quick shot of opium to cheer me up.
