Return to nature

This shabby old house stands on a large plot of land in a conservation area and has been awaiting development for the past 3 years.  Several applications have been made, all of them refused.  Meanwhile, the garden has continued to grow and the weeds are now above shoulder height providing a wonderful habitat for all manner of wildlife.  I stood on our kitchen stepladder to take this image.  

I like the old iron gate, framed by weeds, propped back against the wall of the house, its notice ignored.
