Food Fight

I just missed the bird that unseated this poor goldfinch (it flew out of the top of the frame). There has been lots of squabbling over the food just lately so I thought I would try for an action shot. This is not as sharp as I would like because I am attempting bird shots with manual focus and also I had the shutter speed quite fast to try and freeze the action - I would say I still need quite a bit of practice.
It has been a nice sunny day, for a change, but I couldn't summon up the enthusiasm for a walk as I am still not feeling great. The base of my spine feels bruised but I can't remember knocking it and it is quite painful when I sit or stand, so I am having to lay flat quite a bit, which can be really boring when there are things you want to do. I'm sure it will sort itself out before long :-)
