New Sunflowers
We had a dianthus (pinks) for many years in one bed of the garden, but it had got completely out of control and was crowding the roses, so Gill got these lovely sunflowers already in bloom from the garden shop and we've replaced the pinks. The hoverflies love them! I hope we can keep the slugs and snails at bay. They seem to home in on sunflower leaves from a mile away. The Natria pellets seem to be working.
We put up the new desks in the office today (thanks for the blip, NinjaShoe!) and I got a lot accomplished, even though I had clay club as well over my long mid-day break.
Clay Club went very well. All the students glazed their last pieces in time for the last firing of the term tomorrow evening. Everyone was enthusiastic about carrying on in Sept! Very heartening.
