Vienna June Day 1

Hubby took the week off while our visitor is here. We drove to Vienna about midday, checked into our Airbnb then drove the car to a cheap car park. We then took public transport around the city. I love the trams and trains in Vienna as they are so efficient and convenient. We went to Belvedere Palace which is set in beautiful sculptured gardens. We didn't visit either of the art galleries as it was a little late in the day by then. We did have an (expensive) ice cream to cool off as it was another hot day.
We stopped at the Soviet War Memorial in Schwarzenberg Place where a hose was spraying a fine mist of water to help people cool off (see extras). The Blip is the fountain in the square looking very sparkly in the late afternoon sun. We sat and rested for a while at a little oasis - Karl's Church - on the way to the Prater for their famous pork knuckle - see extra here. We finished the night with a ride on the Riesenrad (Giant Ferris Wheel ) for the first time at night - see last extra - which was rather spectacular..
