Llandwynn Island
Thursday
A great walk this morning, starting from Moelfre. Before we set off hiking, we had a look in the Lifeboat station - Moelfre has a remarkable record of bravery, it’s lifeboat crews being recipients of 37 medals for gallantry. Our walk took us along the coastal path for quite a way, then we returned through country lanes and footpaths, passing the ruined 12th c chapel of Capel Lligwy, the Din Lligwy ancient village site, with its stone hut circles, and finally Lligwy burial chamber. We had lunch back in Moelfre in a delightful cafe garden, before driving to Llandwynn Island with its stunning beaches with views across to the Snowdonia range, and Twr Mawr lighthouse shown in extra.
In the evening, we drove back to Roger’s sister in Appleton
