Choo Choo train...

... chuggin' up the track...

Much like my previous experiences in Wales, walked all day, saw very little! As a student, I remember one of the walking group saying he knew the Lake District and Wales in 10 metre wide strips...
Anyway, today we followed the Llanberis path up Snowdon - steady up til half way, then steep up to the top. The main blip is to prove we didn't get the train after all - and it was taken as conditions improved on the way down :)
This was the only one of the main paths up Snowden that Roy had never done, and it suited the day well. Today he remenisced about his younger days completing the Welsh 3000s - but today we couldn't see any of them. Had it been clear, we were supposed to be able to see 18 lakes and 14 peaks over 3000ft. In fact it proved difficult to see the cafe at the top :)
So - peak number 8 on Roy's Tour - Yr Wyddfa. At 3560ft, the highest we're attempting, and a 10 mile walk to boot..

Two extra collages - one of gates & ruins, and the other marking our progress up and down. A wee mono snuck in for Welsh Patriotism on the Welsh Cakes - the dragon, and everything in two languages...
