Cicada

I heard cicadas this afternoon. It took me a while I but managed to track one down - for all their noise they can be surprisingly hard to spot.

I just couldn't decide between the full shot and the close up. I decided the full shot would give you an explanation to what it is you're seeing in the close up. You don't realise just how down-right ugly they are until you see them through a macro lens.

Best seen large to appreciate.
