Thank you all for your care and concern for Laney yesterday. She ate well and slept well last night, and today seems totally back to normal! She even let me look into her ear with a flashlight, and I could not find a sign of any trouble. So whatever it was has healed, or dried up and fallen out! 
Today I took only this one photo, and it is of the morning sun on one of my plants on the back porch. I am certainly enjoying my porch now that the warm weather has arrived.
