Botany Bay

Another lovely day, a few degrees less than yesterday but nice all the same. We decided to have a bit of a road trip and having never visited before, we headed to Botany Bay near Broadstairs in Kent. It turned out to be a popular spot but once we got away from the crowds near the parking, we were able to enjoy the spectacular cliffs and interesting beach. 

We headed back inland after a good walk along the sand and rocks for a well earned drink and ice cream. 

Traffic coming home was busy so we stayed off the motorways until just before the Dartford Crossing and enjoyed the low sunshine behind the bridge and lighting Canary Wharf in the far distance.
