Beaten To It
But not a problem.
This is a section of one of the wall plates in Dud Corner Cemetery, it, along with the others contains the names of those with no known grave killed in the main at the Battle of Loos in 1916.
My great uncle, George Richard Roberts, was a private in the East Surrey Regiment. To the best of my knowledge his parents and immediate family never saw the cemetery neither did any of his descendants. My mother always wanted to visit her uncles memorial and never did and I promised I would.
But my nephew, Ollie, five generations on visited whilst on a school trip, the school very kindly detoured so he could see the cemetery.
I still aim to visit, maybe even this year.
