Meadow Grass, Storms and Power Cuts
In our garden we have an area of meadow grass which is cut once every year. There is a range of bulbs which start in January and finish about June. After they have died back the grass is then cut back. Today is the day, however, floods and pestilence are forecast. Today’s Blipfoto is sunrise over our meadow patch.
After a shop at Morrison’s and Aldi we drive back with the roof rolled back and the side windows rolled down. It is hot and muggy. Hot means 22C. I know, but it is Scotland. We just arrive home as raindrops make their presence known.
This soon becomes heavy storms and lightening flashes, one of which disrupts the electricity supply. Quickly restored within 5 minutes.
Dealt with a query from a concerned friend who owns an award winning house we designed nearly 30 years ago.
Apparently he had suffered such a deluge that rainwater had started to pour in through the underfloor vents. Quite unheard of but I was able to give some guidance and reassurance.
