The Old Forge (Sunday 30th June 2019)
Pleased as I was to see yesterday's butterfly in the porch, it really was a very poor image for some reason, so I am posting early to replace it at the top of my timeline.
I didn't get to water the plants last night in the end so went out first thing this morning before it got too hot, and noticed how the wildflowers in front of the driveway shed door were behaving differently from this time one year ago, when I was keen to get a picture of the dock flowering in front of the shed door. Alongside the dock this year are borage, red valerian and what I think are hawkbits.
I may delegate this image to Extras if I take something away from home later today - this rather depends on the climate and whether I use the car. A trip to Bath is one possibility, but not if it's anything like yesterday.
Thanks to Miranda1008 for hosting Wild Flower Week.
Edit:
I did make it into Bath with 4 missions to accomplish: getting my iPad fixed, picking up literature on EVs at the VW garage, getting £10 off a silk tie at Charles Tyrwhitt, and doing the R Avon-Sydney Gardens canal walk. I came away having done the walk with a replacement like-for-like iPad and a suitably gaudy tie, but I didn't have time to visit Volkswagen.
I have added three Bath Extras that include a street performer and the chocalatier Charlotte Brunswick, and am posting to the new albums bit by bit.
The new iPad is a nightmare as everything bluetooth needs to be re-paired, every app needs to be logged in anew, and each presents some new unexpected problem, some not yet solved. Hair-tearing ensues.

Tougher than the Dead, looser than the Airplane, the Bay Area band the Quicksilver Messenger Service (so named because all the band were born under the sign of Virgo) were very much a live band and rarely ventured into a studio. The album Happy Trails is their defining record and most of it revolves around the great Bo Diddley's rhythm sound, as on this track which opens side 2, and features the twin guitar sound of Gary Duncan and John Cippollino jamming around two chords to great effect. Bo Diddley's original was recorded in March 1957 and a version of the song appeared on the first Stones album in 1964.
