Contrast

What a day of contrasts.

I enjoyed a favourite 2 hour walk this afternoon in warm sunshine - let me explain why it is so good! I head up to Corstorphine Hill, a local nature reserve that has a path at the back of the zoo so after walking through cool wooded tracks you get free sightings of kudu and zebra as well as great views of Edinburgh and the Forth. Then through Ravelston to the Museum of Modern Art with Paolozzi, Moore & Gormley art on display. Along the Water of Leith with amazing wildflowers, heron and robins. Then onto Murrayfield and Roseburn Park where 2 cricket matches were in progress. On to the old railway track by the golf course, lots of dogs & owners. Home just before the heavens opened.

Cup of tea in the garden summerhouse listening to the rain, hail and thunder glad to put my feet up!

Out to dinner at Dunstane House, lovely (unexpected) sunset on way home.
