Ordination Day

My friend, Mandy, was ordained priest today in Birmingham Cathedral with six other men and women.  It was a truly joyous occasion. The Bishop's opening words were, "Watch out!  There's a God about!"

I first met Mandy 9 years ago when we were both applying for Reader Training.  We hit it off that first day and we have been friends since then.  Mandy's road to ordination has been a difficult one for her.  She has health issues and is going into hospital on Thursday for life changing surgery.  Her courage and commitment make me admire her and I hope that the coming years bring her the fulfilment she deserves.
