For two out of season weekends each year Whitby in North Yorkshire is absolutely heaving with people of all ages who occasionally like to live in an 'alternative' way for a while.

Many of them enjoy recreating the Victorian custom of Promenading, for which the ancient narrow streets of Whitby are perfectly suited.

Others prefer the Edwardian styles of dress. And there are many more styles as well. All completely accepted by the locals and by other visitors.

All can find a bargain at this Charity 'Bring and Buy' event, held at the Spa, and always very popular.
