A day in the life

Oneisland

This small coastline excerpt is from a place called “Enø”, meaning simply “Oneisland”.

The Danish letter ø, is really an ’o’ and an ’e’ written on top of each other to produce a mix of the two sounds. In Sweden we write the same sound ’ö’, the two dots representing the missing ’e’. Easy, isn’t it?

Compare the old English ÿ.
