Bridget Riley

Had to go into Edinburgh for a couple of admin reasons but had a hour to spare and took in the Bidget Riley exhibition at NGS. Her optical art is extremely challenging and tiring on the eye but I was fascinated and will spend more time in the Gallery over the summer. Rather like Mondrian this abstract art is anything but random and it was particularly interesting to see the planning which goes into each piece. She also employs assistants to paint the final art work. Disconcerting but, if you are forewarned well worth a visit.
