Eyeing...
……………..the Photographer!
This wee fella was looking rather wary and keeping a close eye on me and my camera. A long lens meant I could keep my distance, take a selection of photos and depart leaving the scene to evening stillness.
I think this is a juvenile spotted shag, a species of cormorant endemic to New Zealand.
Thank you for the many lovely comments, stars and hearts for my blip of the sandspit bathed in gentle light at sunset. My apologies for my erratic comments and visits to your journals at present - since returning from holiday I have several deadlines that need my attention.
