A Beautiful Painted Lady

.......as the sun was out I thought I would try my luck with the swallows at the poppy field again.
Unfortunately when I got there the owner of the field was cutting the grass in the adjoining small orchard and although there is an ungated gap to get to the field you have to cross the corner of the orchard.
As the chap was near the fence I asked him if I could go in and photograph the poppies and wildlife but he politely said no because I think he was annoyed with dog walkers who don't clear up and are not supposed to use the field but they take liberties and he didn't want to be seen to let me in even though I didn't have a dog.
Having asked I had to respect his decision, so I just took some shots over the fence.

I have included extras of a feeble attempt at a swallow in flight ( I wasn't on the flight path this time) a ladybird pupa ( not sure if it's native or harlequin) and the poppies which looked gorgeous in the sunshine :-))
