Oooo, a new one!

I looked down and an unusual colour stared back at me from beneath a shoot of bilberry.  A moth! At first, I thought it might be another Gold Spot like the other week as the colouring was similar but, on my hands and knees by now, I was fairly sure I'd found something different.

We both tripped back home (Little Dog too who was full of treats for being so patient waiting out of the way.)  It was a gorgeous walk without the moth but you know how I love to find something new... Huge excitement! 

I think it's a northern eggar moth but am off to my fb moth group to check it out.
