And the sun shone

On the last day of our full day here. Tomorrow we will start the journey home stopping off to see some friends on the way.

As we’d walked long distances the last two days today we decided to only do a short walk and use the rest of the day to go into Pitlochry to pick up some gifts for people.

Having had lunch and done our shopping we parked the car in the same place as yesterday but walked the other way to Killiecrankie. We weren’t following a route but the app that I use ViewRanger can still be used to locate oneself.

It was a lovely walk. The main image is some caterpillars weaving webs and turning into chrysalis and the additional one is a cute plant growing out of the bridge that crossed the River Garry at Killiecrankie.

Today we’ve seen a buzzard, a hare, a deer, a pheasant and a reed warbler in addition to lots of sparrows, and swallows. We also a black retriever on the walk who brought me his stick to throw. Which of course I did. This game lasted until his owner caught up with him. He was a delightful dog.

After the walk we went and fed the ducks for the last time. There were a couple of black headed gulls enjoying the food too.

Soon the bats will start flying by the window.

We’ve had a great time and I really don’t want to go home. It will be good to see Murphy and Willis.
