Raggaschlucht

A stinking hot day today in the mountains but we kept cool by walking up the Raggaschlucht - a ravine 800m high with wooden steps beside the cascading water. We haven’t seen the water so fierce before; all the rivers and streams are fast flowing at the moment due to the late snow melt. It was nice and cool, especially the bit where we got soaked from the spray. The view from the top was amazing and we relaxed there a bit before walking back down in the road. We had a light lunch in a beer garden nearby then drove back to Heiligenblut to look over the famous pilgrim church and pretty cemetery in the village.
We had dinner for our last evening at a beautiful restaurant up on a hill overlooking the valley. We all had the venison as it is normally not available until autumn. We had another fantastic stay in the beautiful part of the world.
