Trains
I went up to our local station this morning to take some photos of the trains for this week's Wide Wednesday challenge which has a theme of transport, and this is not what I had in mind but I ended up preferring this to my planned shot.
It is another hot and muggy day. Our house, being new and modern, is extremely well insulated and in winter it is wonderfully warm but in summer it feels too warm, so I find at night it is too hot to sleep.
Luke and Meriel get back today from their post graduation holiday to Majorca, and they also get their university results today. Luke has just phoned me to say he got the results he wanted and did very well in his dissertation getting a high mark which is great news as he was worried it could go either way - these things are often subjective and at the mercy of the tutor's view of the point you are trying to make.
Yesterday I planned to go visit RHS Wisley but never got there. It seems Boris Johnson was there chatting to everyone (trying to score votes) and then later he was in our village and even went into our local butcher shop who posted a photo of him buying their award winning sausages, followed by a visit to our local pub. I wish he had knocked on our door as I would loved to have challenged him about some things!
I have our final camera group meeting tonight at school. With everyone contributing, I have bought presents for the teacher and parent who runs it, and I am also taking some bubbly so tonight will be a bit relaxed as we wrap up for the year.
