Zaskroniec Zwyczajny

This is Polish Grass Snake. As the name suggests it prefers to be in the grass and near water. Today it is travelling on very  hot and dry surface.
I hope it will find our pond eventually.
It is completely harmless but will emit foul odour if handled.
