Fledglings
The garden is being visited by young robins and this evening the population of peregrine falcons on the church was extremely vocal. I thought the bird screeching I could here when sitting in the garden was caused by peregrines as it was the same noises I had heard when walking by the church the other day. Sure enough, when we walked by the church, the adult male was perched right on top of the cross (at the top of the church spire) – see extra pic. There were three other peregrines on the roof and they took flight, chasing each other and making those same screeching noises. I was transfixed by them. Most of the local people don't realise that the fastest animals in the world are living in the church spire and walk by, probably thinking I have an an unhealthy obsession with church architecture (as I'm always photographing it).
The rest of the day wasn't as exciting, being at work. A few of us are trying the new Wizards Unite game, which is strangely addictive. I haven't read all the Harry Potter books and the younger folk in the office are astounded/horrified by this. I think Harry Potter is their Star Wars. So, I've no idea about the spells I'm casting or what the critters I'm catching are, but hey ho.
