Leftovers

I spent the entire afternoon working on clearing out the left side of the workroom closet, and I'm not finished yet.  This side had not so much in the way of things, but lots of paper.  As I went through it all, I was surprised to find things I'd written but had forgotten about - the outline for a book for girls from dysfunctional families, first page of a novel, scenes from my acting classes, poems that I love, the beginnings of essays, one of my old calendars, and the sign I used when I sold my calendars at little fairs.  So much unfulfilled history.  

The start of the novel reads a lot better than I thought it was, and I was surprised to discover how very detailed the book outline is.  I am thinking that I may give that book another try, if my confidence and energy hold up.  So much of this clearing out involves closing doors to my past, which is what makes it so hard,
