Gold Spot
It was warm and humid last night, ideal weather for moths, so we put the moth trap on for the first time for several weeks. Despite the torrential downpours during the night, there was a wide range of species present, including this Gold Spot, a moth not frequently recorded in our garden. It favours damp places such as fens, water-meadows and river banks and is probably breeding in the Nene Valley so only gets to us when conditions are particularly favourable.
As anyone who still drops by will notice, I'm way behind with blipping. A week in Romania with little access to the internet was followed by a generally rather manic period of work. I'm hoping to catch up eventually but blipping may be a bit hit and miss until the autumn!
