Nature Diary...Enjoying the Summer

The young Starlings are growing fast now and learning how to fend for themselves although they play at being babies when the adults are around. When the adults are away the youngsters are quite fierce with each other even though there’s plenty of food there for them all the time. The little Robins wait until the feeding frenzy has subsided before they fly in for their their own meal, and the tiny Sparrows are all learning to harmonise although one or two are already showing they’re determined to be leaders, but they’re all feeding without their parents most of the time now.
