Hiccup on the way
Spotted this, whilst walking the fit bit round the neighbourhood .....
Mom had a BIG hiccup, this morning. Well actually it began last night. She phoned to let Belinda and Christie, know she wanted a lift to church.
The phone would not connect.
No worries.
She phoned this morning............... same problem.
Worries.
What to do ?
Well, she decided to get ready for church and go and stand on the pavement. Of course, they would come by.
After all, there is only one time, that she has not gone to church with them, since they have been giving her a lift, post-hijack.
Logic said................. they would come.
I did not actually think it was logic, but my opinion was irrelevant.
You can guess where this is going.
She stood in the road, for more than 15 minutes, waiting for something that was never going to happen.
When she finally conceded, no one was coming, she came inside and had a little cry. It was hard to watch. I gave her lots of hugs, explaining how cultures were different etc.
I offered to take her. She was not interested.
And then, I said, how fabulous she looked and that at least I should take a picture. To my surprise, she smiled and agreed to pose for a photo. And when it was done, she was happier.
I have included it, as the extra.
The incident is so small in the big picture of things, but huge for her - it represents her stolen independence.
NOTE : She called Christie out on the fact, that he did not ride past the house, on the way to church. He said it never occurred to him. I am sure it didn't. As I said, different cultures - people think differently.
PS. She now has both Belinda and Christie's cell phone numbers, so hopefully this doesn't happen again.
