The Full Moon Smiled at Their Joy

Could I resist just one more shot of the full moon this year? And of course the answer is No!

The full moon of December is called the Full Cold Moon. And cold it was, indeed: about 18 degrees F (-8 C) on my front porch.

The moon rose orange above the trees, turned yellow, then silvery white.

Later, clouds started to move in related to our next snow weather system: a few more inches of snow coming overnight into morning. Just in case anyone had any doubts, winter is here!

The soundtrack to this shot? Children's shouts and laughter, as they sledded and played on a nearby hill in the silvery-white moonlight and the snow.

The full moon smiled at their joy.
