lighting the bonfire

the fire that was lit on Canigou last night (see yesterdays bip) eventually made its way to Thuir at around 10.15pm tonight. Not sure why it arrives so late as more distant places had it a lot earlier. Maybe the good folk of Thuir need time to recover from the excesses of Fete de la Musique on Friday, going on until at least 2 am, and the usual late night Saturday. I left soon after the flame arrived but I've a feeling the night was only just beginning. I obviously don't have the stamina!
