Let Sleeping Logs Lie
The ocean is unpredictable at the best of times, but in the winter it is prudent to use extra caution. They recommend that you do not play on or around large logs on the beach because they can easily roll if a wave come in and catches you unaware.
I think there is a bigger danger. This log appeared in the last big storm. I have seen it here the last few days, but this was the first time I noticed it looking at me. I think it may have been eyeing the little dog that was trying to pee on it.
We had a pretty good day at work today. I found out that I can leave early Monday if I am so inclined and get all my work done. Here is hoping it all goes smoothly!
My dad is coming down on Sunday so we can have a bit of festivities for the holiday. We are going up to the mouth of the Columbia river to see if we can find any of the 4 snowy owls that have been reported there. Then it is off to lunch somewhere in Astoria and home again with some bird watching along the way.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
Happy Blipping!
