Paris, 10 December 1948: All human beings are ...
... born free and equal in dignity and rights.
Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by United Nations General Assembly the United Nations General Assembly at its 183rd session on 10 December 1948 as Resolution 217 at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, France. Of the then 58 members of the United Nations, 48 voted in favor, none against, eight abstained, and two did not vote.
We visited the exhibition ‚Délarations‘ by Sebastião Salgado in the Musée de l‘Homme, a rather small exhibition with impressive pictures and messages. See extra 1 and here a link for more information:

He is the same photographer I have blipped a bit earlier, with a different exhibition ‚Genesis’ in Zürich:

One statement about his work characterizes what it is about:
“Je ne veux pas qu’on apprécie la lumière ou la palette de tons. Je veux que mes photos informent, provoquent le débat.”

Besides Salgado we were equally impressed by the museum and its permanent collection (see extra 2). First time I have seen an (old) Cephalometer (an instrument for measuring the head) or pulling tongues played different languages (both ‚langues‘ in french).
