Austerity

I saw a news video on YouTube that popped up, about a couple who left the rat race and moved to the woods in Vermont. I love the US, and they seemed so happy, living a simple life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU6607PgzCE

I ordered the book but I haven't read it yet.

Another cloudy day, and by mid-morning the rain had started. Yup, I'm still wearing winter work wear in June. I was looking forward to today, as we have three coffee mornings for the new children starting reception in September. We have twenty children and their parents each day, and they get a chance to visit the classroom and have kind of a 'stay and play' whilst the parents mingle and have coffee. They get a ten minute slot with one of us, where we ask them a bunch of nosy yet pertinent questions about their child!

It was nice to meet the children, but strange at the same time. I'd forgotten how tiny they look at age 3/4! Their little faces, some wriggling about shyly on the chair whilst they look around the classroom where they'll soon spend a lot of the time.

Whilst this was going on, my own lovely children were bumped to Year Two for the morning, whilst the current reception visited Year One. It was somewhat of a logistical nightmare to organise, with all of us playing swapsie-classes, but they seemed to have had a good time and there were no tears.

I had college in the evening- it's hard to believe there are only two weeks left! I need to get my work done, but I've also got school reports that are tying up my time!
