Rockeries

This rockery is doing well.

Generally speaking limestone is good for rockeries and the Arnside/Silverdale area is made of it.

Thank goodness it is now illegal to rip up limestone pavements and sell pieces to gardeners all over the country. Sadly before the law forbade this much damage was done to these special pavements such as those in Gait Barrows National Nature Reserve. Happily all that remains is now safe.
