Appearances Deceptive

The ducks and swans on the river Netta in Augustow were boisterous and somewhat competitive in the race for the bread that people were throwing for them. Ducks didn't mind risking the ire of the swans but weren't meted with the aggression that they reserved for each other. The ice here was pretty thin, but not far away I saw ill advised children walking across it.

We saw W. and K. and earlier spoke to R. in the wine-shop downstairs. We returned too late to attend a gathering in Mackowa Ruda.
