A Heartbeat - always a light somewhere

I originally had a different blip in mind today but I couldn't ignore the news I got today...

My dad continues to lose weight, his cognitive abilities is getting worse, we are talking about which medications are really needed and...

My uncle was given the news that all radiation and radio therapy will be stopped because neither will work. He is asking his insurance to cover a stem cell transplant (experimental) in a last chance...

My Second Cousin has Cystic Fibrosis. I remember her parents working  certain jobs just for the insurance to pay the $10,000 plus a month medication to keep her alive. I remember when she graduated from high school, then college.. the struggles for insurance coverage.... The other day she was admitted into the hospital with pneumonia. The doctor said she wasn't going home. Well as she has beat the odds so many other times, a donor match for lungs happened at the right time (sorry for the family that lost a loved one but grateful they allowed others to live) The surgery was successful and she is breathing on her own again. She has been given a great prognosis.. 

Another reminder to embrace each day...
