St. George’s

The oldest town in Bermuda, it is very quaint with its historic buildings, stocks and ducking stool. A re-enactment takes place each day when the town crier pronounces the local gossip guilty of being a nagging wife and gossip and sentences her to the punishment of the ducking stool. She played the part with great enthusiasm and humour despite the four duckings because she refused to repent.
