Thank you to everyone for their kind thoughts and words about Mr Perkins. I got a message from the vet saying his bloods looked normal – hurrah! We’re to keep feeding him up and have him weighed again in a few weeks. Hopefully, he’ll keep piling on the grams.*

*There’s an expression that doesn’t convert well to the metric system.
