Bulk of the day at Cardrona - blip from the hotel - for a joint session of the 3 areas which make up the South East Scotland Area Support Team.

Lots of discussions about why members of the public became panel members - a variety of reasons but all with the underlying reason of helping children and young people with significant need.

An overview of the system from Lesley - a children’s reporter and Stuart a social worker was followed by my reflections on the ongoing need for change.

At the meeting was Julia who was appointed to be a member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). The meeting very kindly presented her and me with a beautiful hydrangea each for our honours.

Back up the road to meet family for dinner and a visit to see the Magic Flute at the Festival theatre. Great fun as well as lots very singing. One f my brother in law’s father in law was conducting so god d afterwards to hear some of the stories about the production.
