Painted Ladies....

.......enjoying the sun. I called in to Waterstones House near us this morning to see what their wildlife was like in the sun. There were about 10 Painted Lady butterflies on this purple plant called apparently Erysium or Perennial Wallflower....it was just fabulous to see. If you look closely you can see several of them in the bottom photo. There was also a Red Admiral.
Then went into town and had a lovely ( and very inexpensive) lunch with friends.
