Spotted
Fallow Deer have featured in Deer Parks in English country houses for hundreds of years. In size they are between Roe Deer and Red Deer.
A large herd of about 200 live in the park of Dallam Towers, a country house a few miles from home.
A smaller group of about twenty live “wild” in the area between Arnside and Silverdale. Whilst our wives went swimming in the pool of a local caravan park this morning, David and I managed to get near enough for one or two pictures. They are very nervous creatures and quickly detected our presence. Off they went into the distance.
