Their Dressage Moves Had Nothing On China’s

Today was Sushi’s choice and he chose a camel ride around the La Palmeraie, an area on the outskirts of the city encompassing a 50,000 tree date palm plantation.

In true tourist fashion we were dressed in the traditional blue Berber robes and turbans. The camels were so docile and quiet and with their gentle walking movement and not a sound to be heard other than the birds and insects as we walked through the palms...it was a very peaceful experience and I have to confess I enjoyed it more than I expected to...even though their dressage moves had nothing on China’s!

After an afternoon by the pool, we walked into the Médina for the evening. We wanted to visit a herbalist recommended by Youssef to stock up on a selection of beautiful smelling face oils and hand creams (which I am a sucker for) and have a wander around the souks before we had a roof terrace table booked at a highly recommended restaurant called Nomad. The meal was lovely and walking back through the main square at sunset with all the snake charmers, henna artists, market sellers and general hawkers was an overload on the senses.
