The other side

Histoire Ancienne - Calais
One of our favourite restaurants, where food and service are taken seriously and yet the place is relaxed and friendly and prices are very modest. 

We caught an early morning ferry from Dover.
Shopping.
Lunch.
A chance to sit or wander by the sea in the sunshine - on the 'other side' of the Channel.
Back in the afternoon - the quietest, calmest crossing ever.

It was almost worth it for the coffee - wonderful coffee in beautiful cups, tiny biscuit on the side - 1Euro.
