Happy Birthday to Me!

It's my birthday today!

I got a lovely pussy cat cushion from mum and dad (supposedly to deter me from getting a real cat... Hmmm...I'm not sure I see that working?!) and some money which I'm not going to use to pay for bills or food or anything sensible but on something completely frivolous for myself that I actually want to buy. Haven't decided what yet, but it may be a rather stylish 50's inspired handbag with cherries on it...

I also got a photo of a present from Claire before her and Andy left this morning. Not as mean as it sounds, actually made sense not to cart the real present up and down the road from Edinburgh as it's a gorgeous lamp made from china teacups and much too fragile. My brother doesn't do birthday presents, never has done, so nothing from him but I did get a grunted Happy Birthday when he saw me this morning! What more could you ask for? ;)

Having your birthday 2 days after Christmas isn't ever going to be ideal and no one can be bothered doing anything so I never expect much of a fuss. However Maggie always makes a special effort, despite having showered me with my fabulous flamingo gifts before I headed up north, and stopped me being all bah humbug by getting me out of the house and treating me to lovely coffee and cake at the Storehouse :)

Later on I popped into town with the family and bought myself some PJ's in the sale. Red with white polkadots, naturally.
